Q176155Nepete: ancient town in southern Etruria, modern Nepi.
Nepete was an Etruscan town, conquered in 383 VC by the Romans after the fall of Veii.note It was recognized as a Latin colonia.
The town still boasts some ancient monuments, including Etruscan necropoles, remains of city walls, a Roman mausoleum, a catacomb, and an aqueduct (which the present author had to look at for several hours after his car had broken down).
