Cyzicus
Q615449Cyzicus (Greek Κύζικος): Mysian town in the Propontis. The closest modern village is Aşağıyapıcı, the nearest modern city is Erdek.
History
- According to legend, founded by Pelasgians or Argonauts; in fact eighth-century Milesian settlers on their way to the Black Sea (traditionally 757 BCE)
