- Between 74 and 86: Marriage to Trajan
- 97: Trajan adopted by Nerva as caesar
- 98: Death of Nerva; Trajan becomes emperor
- Autumn 102?: Plotina receives the title of Augusta
- 112: First coins with the legend Plotina Augusta
- 117: Death of Trajan; there is no will, but Plotina ensures the accession of Hadrian
- 123 or later: death
- Plotina is buried next to her husband in the pedestal of the Column of Trajan
- Consecrated as Diva Plotina; in Nemausus, Hadrian dedicates a basilica to her
