Khusrau IV
Khusrau IV: king of Persia, ruling from 631 to 637, member of the Sasanian dynasty.

- Beginning of reign: 631
- The Sasanian king Khusrau II fought a long war against the Byzantines, but was defeated by the Byzantine emperor Heraclius.
- In 628, Khusrau was replaced by his son Kavad II, who killed all his brothers but left his sisters alive.
- Kavad II died after a short reign and left a young son Ardašir IV as successor.
- In 630, he was replaced by Khusrau's general Shahrbaraz, who was killed almost immediately and succeeded by queen Buran.
- In a series of palace intrigues, Buran was almost immediately replaced by her sister Azarmedukht but placed on the throne again
- In these confused years, there were several usurpers. One of these is Khusrau IV, who managed to remain in control of some part of the Sasanian Empire for perhaps six years
- 632: Buran is killed and succeeded by Yazdgard III, the last king of Sasanian Persia, who also puts an end to the reign of Khusrau IV, perhaps in 637.
